Let the fragrance of your presence permeate the fabrics of my home – Kemi Esho.

The best gift you can give your family and as many whose feet will step on the shores of your house is the presence of God. There’s nothing more gracious and glorious than that. Imagine you go on holiday to a home where the presence of God permeates. You find yourself in an atmosphere where your spiritual life is turbo charged because the presence of God resides with them in that home. How beautiful that will be.

When we talk or read about God’s presence, many feel it’s something esoteric, something for some selected few, or revered pastors. No, it’s not. It is for as many who are children of God, born of His spirit. God wishes to dwell and abide in homes. The Home God dwells is the home where His presence is, and where His presence is, there is no rancour. Love flows freely, peace is a constant, unity binds them together, and the members are always bubbling with joy.

How can you cultivate God’s presence in your home?

If you do not have a personal relationship with God, His presence cannot abide with you. The first step is accepting Christ as your saviour if you are yet to, and cultivating a relationship with Him. The relationship you have with God is then transfered to your family. Ensure your personal walk with God is one that brings joy to God’s heart.

A family that prays together stays together. There is nothing more beautiful than when a family in one accord invite God into their homes. There’s no sweeter moment than when family members pray and commune with their Father, where the Bread of Life is broken to the tiniest piece for the littlest of the household. O, how beautiful!

You obviously cannot spend 24 hours of everyday on your kneels or in a confined place praying, but there are songs that keep your home in the atmosphere of worship. Whatever it is you are doing, the song connects you to God. You are praying and worshipping without ceasing while you’re carrying out your other mundane tasks.

Here is a quote that speaks of a home with God’s presence.

God is the Head of this house, the unseen Guest at every meal, the Silent Listener to every conversation.
