There was a discussion going on in a group I belong to and along the line, the argument drifted to the need for men to take their place in the home. There was an argument that women are the keepers at home and the major responsibility is on them. “A wise woman will build her home.”
Countering the argument, someone said, which I strongly support. That has been the excuse given on behalf of men who have not taken up their responsibility in their home. They leave everything to the woman.
Men, in your home and for your home, ARISE! Yes, you have one of your responsibility of bringing home the bacon which you’re dedicating all your life to, but that is not the only responsibility you owe your family. You owe your children a lot, much more than finance. You owe your wife a lot much more than the monthly upkeep you bring to the table. A lot in the home rests on your shoulders. You’re the priest, you’re the protector, you’re the leader, you’re the provider, you’re the HEAD.A lot in the home rests on your shoulders. Who will teach your boys to be real men (not the kind the society has ingrained in their subconscious, not the toxic masculinity we all know of)? Who will teach your daughters to be real women, who know their worth and do not fall for the sweet nothings from boys of their peer? Who will help your wife take away some domestic load so she can thrive in every other area of her life to make her the balanced woman you want?
Your response to the questions will tend to be “what is my wife there for? She’s meant to be my helpmeet.” Listen, man. She’s to help you in what you’re meant to do. She’s not to carry the whole weight on her head. She’s your HELP. How do you help someone who’s not willing to lift a muscle? How can the body function when the HEAD is not there? Yet, you still want her to meet your needs.
Bishop T.D Jakes said in his sermon Model Homes, …let’s be fair, fellas. Let’s be fair. It’s hard for the woman to be consistent in meeting your needs when her lifestyle has drained her strength. You don’t expect her to be the bionic mammal, go out there and work 9 hours a day, come home and cook dinner, help the kids with home work…”
Men, it’s time to arise. Your home needs you. Your wife needs you. Your son(s) need you. Your daughter(s) need you. Men, ARISE!
